Impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic on Internal Migrant Workers in Southern Viet Nam and the Roles of Relevant Stakeholders
This report is based on a study conducted between July and September 2022 to understand the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on Vietnamese internal migrant workers and the enterprises that employ them. The study presents findings related to the employment status, working conditions and financial status of internal migrant workers; workers’ ability to access social welfare; intention of workers to migrate; as well as workers’ needs and expectations of support from enterprises and State agencies. It also provides evidence-based recommendations for State agencies and enterprises to enhance their working and living conditions for a resilient post-pandemic recovery.
