Addressing human rights risks and harnessing the benefits of labour migration requires that businesses centre their efforts on migrant workers.
We support businesses in the design and implementation of human rights policies and systems that are inclusive of the needs and perspectives of migrant workers. Applying IOM’s global expertise on migration management and assisting migrants, we help businesses establish gender-responsive and rights-based support services at all stages of migration. We also facilitate the engagement between businesses and credible civil society partners and worker representatives in countries of origin and destination. This includes comprehensive information and orientation programmes for migrant workers to fully understand their rights, the monitoring of recruitment practices through worker feedback, and the utilization of digital worker-voice tools to foster communication and positive relationships between migrant workers, employers and recruiters.
