Workshop on Ethical Recruitment and Protection of Migrant Workers in Jordan

Jordan - Migrant workers are often subjected to violations and exploitation due to their vulnerability. This happens when there is a lack of knowledge of Labour Rights and when their access to protection is limited. Not only the government of the host country is responsible for ethical recruitment and protection of the migrant workers, all of the stakeholders are responsible, including businesses, the private sector and recruitment agencies.

The tools that are available with IOM and International Labour Organization to support the governmental initiatives in this field, were shared during a two-day workshop conducted by IOM Jordan in cooperation with ILO, the Jordanian Counter-Trafficking Unit and the Ministry of Labour.

The workshop was organized under the MIRAC funded project “Safeguarding the Workers on the Move in the MENA Region”.
